•Beam Suntory has announced Ardray, a new blended Scotch whisky, set to hit shelves in the U.S. late this summer. The 48% abv whisky brings together malts from both Beam Suntory—owner of Laphroaig, Bowmore, Ardmore, and Glen Garioch—and Edrington—owner of Highland Park, the Macallan, and the Glenrothes—and pays tribute to Suntory's legacy of blending whiskies. According to the company, each batch of Ardray will contain malts from 10 or fewer distilleries. The whisky carries a suggested price of $85 a 700-ml. bottle.
•Truly Hard Seltzer is relaunching Truly Vodka Soda, originally introduced last year as Truly Vodka Seltzer. The spirit-based extension of Boston Beer Company's hard seltzer brand, it returns with updated packaging and new flavors. In addition to the original four-flavor variety pack, Truly Vodka Soda now offers the Classic Pack consisting of new flavors Lime, Mango, Blueberry, and Pineapple; and the Paradise Pack featuring Mango, Watermelon, Passion Fruit, and Blood Orange. The entire line-up is at 5% abv.
•Australia's Barramundi Wines is returning to the U.S. market. The range includes Weekender White Blend, Sauvignon Blanc, Trailblazer Red Blend, Shiraz, and Cabernet Sauvignon priced at $15 a bottle. Barramundi has partnered with importer and distributor Swirlbev for the U.S. launch, which will initially focus on the New York and New Jersey markets.
•Bowmore, part of the Beam Suntory portfolio, has announced the Ultimate Rare Collection, a new line of ultra-aged, limited release whiskies. The line consists of 1969 50 Year Old, 40 Year Old, and 30 Year Old. Bowmore's 50-year-old whisky is bottled at 46.9% abv and carries a suggested retail price of $42,000 with only 339 bottles available around the world. Bowmore's 40-year-old single malt comes in at 48.7% with only 160 bottles available and a suggested price of $9,000. Finally, the distillery's 30-year-old whisky is at 45.3% abv and is slightly more available than the other two whiskies, with 2,556 bottles rolling out, retailing at around $2,650 each.
