Hartley man arrested for theft of vodka

SIBLEY—A 62-year-old Hartley man was arrested about 4:15 p.m. Saturday, May 27, on a charge of fifth-degree theft.
The arrest of Rene Richard Samaniego stemmed from him taking a 1.75-liter bottle of McCormick Vodka, shoving it in the front waistband of his shorts and walking out of Brew Oil in Hartley without paying for it at about 4:15 p.m. Friday, May 26, according to the Hartley Police Department.
The bottle had a list price of $13.99.
Samaniego admitted to stealing the bottle the next day, according to the incident report.
